Hydra Publications’ main imprint is not accepting new manuscripts at this time.
Hydra seeks distinctive, well-crafted novels that showcase authentic human creativity. Manuscripts containing AI-generated content will not be considered.
A complete manuscript of at least 70,000 words; LitRPG manuscripts should be closer to 100,000 words.
Speculative fiction, including thriller, horror, fantasy, science fiction, steampunk, dystopian fiction, and related subgenres.
Original, previously unpublished work for which first publishing rights are available.
A polished sample that represents your strongest writing, even if the full manuscript has not been professionally edited.
Submission process
When submissions reopen
Prepare the email
Put “Acquisitions” in the subject line and place the query letter directly in the body of the email.
Add your sample
Paste the first 3,000 words of the manuscript into the email, double-spaced. Do not send attachments or cloud-storage links.
Allow five weeks
If Hydra requests the full manuscript, you will hear by email within five weeks. After that time, you may inquire about its status.
