Nick Gabriel is a Hollywood script doctor and the author of a successful one-man play about William Blake. When his daughter’s friend Carly King tells him that her mother, younger sister, and stepfather were murdered on September 11, 2001, Nick travels to Lexington, Kentucky, hoping the unsolved crime might inspire a screenplay. Joined by Carly, his daughter Angel, retired detective Tom Mills, and cold-case detective Harper Young, Nick uncovers troubling connections to two of the stepfather’s business associates. After two more homicides, the investigation leads him toward a possibility he desperately hopes is wrong: Carly herself may be the killer.
